Early Assurance Benefits
- Solid liberal arts program as a pre-pharmacy student at Belmont University
- Admission to the PharmD program is guaranteed if all Pre-Pharmacy Requirements for Early Assurance are achieved*
- Academic merit scholarships awarded as an incoming freshman may continue for a total of six years of pre-pharmacy/PharmD study, as long as eligibility requirements are met each year. Years 5 & 6 provided by the College of Pharmacy
- Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) is waived for students who apply to Belmont’s PharmD program through Early Decision which excludes application to any other pharmacy school.
- A faculty member from the College of Pharmacy will serve as academic advisor during the time as a pre-pharmacy student
- Preferred access to available volunteer/shadowing opportunities with College of Pharmacy faculty, such as medical mission trips and observation in the University Pharmacy
- Opportunity to join student pharmacy organizations
- Open invitation to lectures, seminars and other special events sponsored by the College of Pharmacy
Early Assurance Requirements
As a high school senior applying to Belmont:
- Admission to and enrollment at Belmont University as a freshman student with an intended major in Pharmaceutical Studies or other area of science
- Complete all math and science prerequisites at Belmont*
- Complete at least two full semesters with minimum of 8 hours of biology and 8 hours of chemistry
- Achieve an overall GPA of 3.25 or higher during these first two semesters
- Achieve a math and science GPA of 3.0 or higher as a pre-pharmacy student
During the summer between the freshman and sophomore years:
- Apply through PharmCAS between July 15 and September 1 for Early Decision to the PharmD program at Belmont University, one year prior to intended enrollment
- Complete a successful interview for Early Decision to the PharmD program
- Continue all math and science prerequisites at Belmont
- Complete all prerequisites (listed below) for the PharmD program with a minimum grade of “C” or better in each course and a GPA of 3.0 or better in all of these courses combined
- Achieve a math and science GPA of 3.0 or higher as a pre-pharmacy student
- Achieve an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher as a pre-pharmacy student

- Organic Chemistry II (CEM 2820 – 4 credits)
- Physics (PHY 1110 – 3 credits)
- Calculus (MTH 1210 – 4 credits, Pharmacy requires only 3 credits)
- Statistics (MTH 1151 – 3 credits)
- 1st Writing (ENG 1010 – 3 credits)
- 2nd Writing (GND 1015 – 3 credits)
- 1st Communication Skills (COM 1100 – 3 credits)
- 2nd Communication Skills (COM 1930,2020,2200,2230,2340 or ENG 3010 or ENW 2015-3580 or a foreign language skills course – 3 credits)
- 1st Behavioral or Social Science (from psychology (recommended), economics (recommended), sociology, history political science, communication theory, anthropology, minority studies or global issues – 3 credits)

- Humanities (ENL 2000-4380, HUM 1000-3500, or other appropriate course from fine arts, philosophy, ethics or foreign culture – 3 credits)
